It all started when Rob was four years old and his neighbours had a pony that nobody could catch. The owners would ask Rob’s parents if they could borrow him because the pony responded to him and it even let him ride her. Since then his love and respect for horses has developed, and continues to do so.
Rob has managed yards for three international riders before setting up on his own. He has a calm and straightforward approach to training and coaching which enables him to get the best out of every horse and rider.
Rob runs a closely acquainted yard nestled on a historic farm in the heart of the Cotswolds.
The approach is of patience and nurturing. Rob’s philosophy to training and teaching is “keep it simple” to promote understanding and to never lose sight of the basics. “Listen to your horse and ask yourself ‘why’ if a problem arises.”
“A good horseman is confident to take a step backward if needs be. Take time and be patient.”
